Relocation Support

As part of an ongoing appointment, VJA Consultancy Limited was asked by the Senior Leadership Team to take ownership of the practicalities and vacate the school’s 6th form building which approaching the end of its lease. The contents were then to be distributed across two other sites, 50% would go into short term storage and some would be recycled or disposed of.

This work also coincided with the school being incorporated into a larger Trust.

Working within challenging time constraints, this two-storey building and its grounds needed to be vacated leaving it in a clean and tidy state. With only a 7-day window from the school term ending to handing the keys back, the planning and execution of the project needed to be perfect. The role included:

  1. Meeting with all the Stakeholders.
  2. Agreeing the scope of the works and where items will be relocated.
  3. Preparing the tender document, coordinating the surveys, evaluating, justifying and appointing the successful contractor.
  4. Communicating and working with all departments and stakeholders throughout the process to keep everyone on informed and on track.
  5. Ensuring the building and grounds were cleared and left in a safe condition ready for handing back the property.
  6. Providing photographic records of before, during and afterwards, including meter readings to minimise and future disputes.

Client Feedback

“Thanks for your sterling support of the East London Science School Trust over the past seven months since I have been CEO.

We have achieved a huge amount as a standalone Trust and slowed down what could have been a disastrous situation for the school and the young people it serves. Your contribution has been significant, and we could not have made it through without you.
As we both leave the East London Science School Trust at the end of August, I should like to wish you all the best of luck for the future and hope that we will continue to work together.”

Nick Watkiss - Chief Executive Officer, East London Science School Trust.
