Premises Team Support
Following this East London School being put into special measures, VJA Consultancy Limited was approached to provide additional support for the Senior Leadership Team and co-ordinate the Schools Premises Team.
The school was spread across three sites and consisted of a listed building and two leased properties.
The first objective was to carry out an assessment of what documents and procedures were in place and understand their position from a compliance perspective. Secondly, understand the unique challenges which the team had to contend with and what could be done to improve them. Thirdly, we had to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the team so stabilisation and recovery plans could be developed. These included:
- Review of the existing supply chain.
- Review of the Premises Teams skill set and training needs.
- Preparation of Asset Lists across the three locations.
- Development of a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) regime.
- Coaching of the Premises Manager and their team
- Liaising with other departments such as Science and IT in relation specific issues.
- Helping to develop and practice the Fire Drill procedures across the three sites.
